Catherine began working in health benefits for Professor Pilzer in early 2005. Her original research of each state's available health insurance policies and policies governing coverage of medical uninsurables served as the basis for the State-by-state guide to The New Health Insurance Solution. That research was expanded to a paper, which analyzed recent practices and provided policy recommendations to individual states in insuring medical uninsurables. This paper earned first prize in a national writing competition sponsored by the American College of Legal Medicine, and was published in the December 2006 edition of the Journal of Legal Medicine. Catherine represented her law school at the national Ruby R. Vale Moot Court Competition in Delaware where her team placed third in arguing a corporate securities problem. Before entering law school, Catherine graduated from Brigham Young University with a Bachelors of Science in Economics and a minor in Business Management in April 2002. She is fluent in spoken Mandarin Chinese and also serves as the webmaster of both www.paulzanepilzer.com and www.tnhis.com.
